New Guinea 1957 Child welfare

Netherlands New Guinea   refers to the West Papua region while it was an overseas territory of the Kingdom of the Netherlands from 1949 to 1962. Until 1949 it was a part of the Dutch East Indies. It was commonly known as Dutch New Guinea. It is currently Indonesia's two easternmost provinces, Papua and West Papua

The Netherlands Indies were the colonial possessions of the Netherlands in Asia and included the islands of Java, Sumatra, part of Borneo, the Moluccas, Celebes, western New Guinea and other smaller islands in the Indonesian archipelago. The Dutch government granted independence to the Dutch East Indies in 1949, which took the name of Indonesia, except for the western part of New Guinea

The Universal Postal Union is a specialized agency of the United Nations that coordinates postal policies among member countries, in addition to the worldwide postal system. Before the establishment of the UPU, each country had to prepare a separate treaty with other nations that post had wanted to bring international mail to and from. The UPU was created in 1874.

Colonial rule expires at the end of the Second World War. In 1948, a new constitution comes into force and the territory became part of the "Netherlands Antilles". Become a direct dependency of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in 2010, at the time of the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles
