Turks and Caicos - 1946 - WW II victory

A group of islands in the West Indies, at the southern extremity of the Bahamas. The islands were under the jurisdiction of Jamaica until 1962, when it assumed the status of a crown colony. Turks and Caicos in 1982 became an overseas territory.

Coronation of George VI and Queen Elizabeth

King George VI became king after the abdication of his brother Edward VIII in december 1936. Her coronation took place on may 12, 1937, the date previously intended for Edward's coronation. In throughout the British Empire is emitted stamps to celebrate the event.
