Muscat and Oman 1944 Al Busaid Dynasty

Southeastern corner of the Arabian Peninsula. An important commercial center for many centuries, Oman was later covered by the expansionist ambitions of the European colonial powers and in 1891 became a British protectorate. In 1970, the Sultanate of Muscat and Oman was able to finally free themselves from British control and ITS name changed to Oman.
