French Guiana is an overseas region of France on the North Atlantic coast of South America. The French have started to create a colony in the 18th century. The infamous Île du Diable (Devil's Island) was part of a larger criminal justice system with the same name which has been operating from 1852 to 1953. In addition, at the end of the nineteenth century, France has requested the residence forced to prisoners survived. In 1946 the French Guyana became an overseas department of France.

issued by the Vichy government in France,
but was not placed on sale in French Guyana.
