Spanish Guinea - 1949 75th Anniversary of UPU

Spanish Guinea  was an African colony of Spain located on the Gulf of Guinea and which became the independent nation of Equatorial Guinea . This colony was formed from the Colony of Rio Muni (formed in 1900), the island of Fernando Poo , the Colony of Elobey, and Corisco Annobón and other adjacent islands. The colony lasted between 1885 and 1968 . Was reunified in 1926 becoming the Spanish Guinea.

The Universal Postal Union is a specialized agency of the United Nations that coordinates postal policies among member countries, in addition to the worldwide postal system. Before the establishment of the UPU, each country had to prepare a separate treaty with other nations that post had wanted to bring international mail to and from. The UPU was created in 1874.
