Romania - 1963 - Peasant Houses

Southeastern Europe, bordering on the Black Sea. Romania was formed in 1859 from the union of the principalities of Moldavia and Walachia and recognized as an independent state in 1877. It became a kingdom in 1881. Following World War I, the original territory was considerably enlarged by the Additions of Bessarabia, Bukovina, Transylvania, Crisana, Maramures and Banat.
