German East Africa - 1900 - Kaiser’s Yacht “Hohenzollern”

In East Africa, bordering on the Indian Ocean. German Colony. Following World War I, the greater part of this German Colonial possession was mandated to Great Britain. The British ceded to the Belgians the provinces of Ruanda and Urundi (Belgian East Africa). The Kionga triangle was awarded to the Portuguese and became part of the Mozambique Colony. The remaining area became the British Mandated Territory of Tanganyika.
