Norway is a country in Northern Europe. The first settlers came from Siberia, however, the Norwegian history is deeply marked by the domination of the Vikings, which soon spread throughout the northern part of the Atlantic Ocean, casting shadows and even terror of the Mediterranean Sea. For centuries it has been the dominance of Denmark and Sweden, achieving independence in 1905. The discovery of oil and natural gas, of 1960, has made Norway one of the richest countries in the world.

The Universal Postal Union is a specialized agency of the United Nations that coordinates postal policies among member countries, in addition to the worldwide postal system. Before the establishment of the UPU, each country had to prepare a separate treaty with other nations that post had wanted to bring international mail to and from. The UPU was created in 1874.
