Eritrea - 1934 - 2 nd International Exhibition of Colonial Art

 Eritrea is a state located in the northern part of the Horn of Africa. It was created as a political entity in 1890 when it was officially declared an Italian colony. In 1935 it was united with Somalia to form Italian East Africa, which later (1936) was also aggregated Ethiopia. In 1941 it was occupied by the British Army and remained under Allied military occupation until 1947. Became a British protectorate until 1952, when the United Nations to declare federated with the Ethiopian Empire, which annexed it in 1962. In 1991 it gained independence.
