Tonga - 1944 - accession of Queen

A group of islands in the south Pacific Ocean, south of Samoa. This group, also known as the Friendly Islands, became a British Protectorate in 1900 under the Anglo-German Agreement of 1899. In 1970 the Kingdom of Tonga gained full independence from the United Kingdom
