North Borneo 1888 Coat of Arms

The North Borneo was an independent state and a British protectorate under the control of the British North Borneo Company from 1882 to 1946, and later a British crown colony from 1946 to 1963. It was located in the northeast of the island of Borneo, corresponding to 'current state of Sabah, which is part of Malaysia.
