Martinique is an island of the Antilles, while the region and French overseas department. He became a French colony in 1635, and the domain of the crown in 1674. In 1946, the French National Assembly voted unanimously to transform the colony into an Overseas Department of France. In 1974 it became simply a Department.
Colonial Education Fund
issued by the Vichy government in France,
but was not placed on sale in Martinique.
