Aegean Islands - Nisiro - 1930 - Ferrucci

The Italian occupation of the islands of the Aegean (Rhodes and the islands of the Sporades) took place in 1912, during the Italo-Turkish War for the possession of Libya. The reasons were essentially military bases closest to ensure supplies and prevent the smuggling of weapons and armed men among the Asian coast and the islands. With the Treaty of Sèvres of 1920, Turkey renounced in favor of Italy, the islands of the Dodecanese and one of  Castellorizo ​​(Castelorosso). After World War II, passed permanently to Greece.
