St. Cristopher and Nevis -1937 - George VI Coronation

Saint Kitts and Nevis (Saint Christopher and Nevis) is an island country in central america. In 1623, British and French they disembarked on the island and towards the end of the seventeenth century, the British Crown managed to expel the French-speaking community. St. Kitts-Nevis was one of the presidencies of the former Leeward Islands colony until it became a colony in 1956 itself. In 1967 Britain granted internal self-government and independence - within the Commonwealth - in 1983

Coronation of George VI and Queen Elizabeth

King George VI became king after the abdication of his brother Edward VIII in december 1936. Her coronation took place on may 12, 1937, the date previously intended for Edward's coronation. In throughout the British Empire is emitted stamps to celebrate the event.
