Bechuanaland -1937 - George VI Coronation

Bechuanaland was a British protectorate from 31 March 1885 to 30 September 1966, when the territory became independent as the Republic of Botswana.

King George VI became king after the abdication of his brother Edward VIII in december 1936. Her coronation took place on may 12, 1937, the date previously intended for Edward's coronation. In throughout the British Empire is emitted stamps to celebrate the event.
