British Honduras - 1946 - WW II victory

British Honduras is the name that had the area now occupied by the independent state of Belize, it was a British colony located on the eastern coast of Central America. Initially claimed by the Spanish in the seventeenth century, in the following century, became the site of colonization by British dedicated to cutting valuable timber and then became a colony under the British crown from 1871 to 1964, when it became a self-governing colony. The British Honduras became fully independent from the United Kingdom in 1981, thus assuming the name of Belize. It was the last continental possession of the United Kingdom in the Americas.
