Finland is a country located in Northern Europe. It was inhabited by groups of Lapps and subsequently invaded by Finns (hence the name). In 1154 begins the Swedish rule, which lasted until 1809 when Finland was conquered by the Russian armies. Remained an autonomous grand duchy connected to the Russian Empire until 1917 when Finland declared its independence to become a republic in 1919
