Kiao-Ciao - 1900 - Kaiser's Yacht "Hohenzollern"

The bay of Kiao-Ciao , located along the southern coast of Shandong province, was a German colony in China from 1898 to 1919. In 1898, the German Empire gained concession by the government of Peking bay Kiao-Ciao for 99 years. In 1914, during the First World War, a joint Anglo-Japanese fleet besieged the concession that surrendered to the Japanese army. At the end of the war the Peace Treaty of Versailles (1919) gave the former German concession Japanese administration, under which it remained until 1922, when on US pressure was returned to China.
